8th Grade Girls Yachad Sensitivity Training

Friday March 25th 2022

Grade 8 Girls had a day of sensitivity training with Yachad, the National Jewish Council for Disabilities, an organization which promotes inclusion. The girls had a workshop with several components. Each part of the session reframed the way the girls see the world around them. It was an “eye opening” experience to learn we need to trigger our senses in different ways, in order to understand how individuals with special needs might be easily overstimulated. The girls concluded the session with some meaningful discussions about the importance of getting to know every individual on a personal level, rather than “labeling” from the way they appear externally or how they act. Special thank you to Mr. Eytan Aryeh, from Yachad New York and Yachad Israel, who led the training.
