The YCQ Debate Team has been having an extremely successful season, so far. At our first debate of the year, the students argued over the following resolution: All American citizens over the age of 18 should be required to vote. YCQ debaters: Sarah Leah Sullivan, Rebecca Sisser, Abigail Badalov and Ruby Samson had stimulating and compelling arguments, both for and against this resolution, and challenged other Middle school students from Yeshiva Day schools including HAFTR, HALB, HANC, SAR, Yeshiva of Flatbush, Kushner, Yeshivat Noam, and Yavneh Academy. After the results were tallied, YCQ won the award for 3rd place overall school, with Sarah Leah Sullivan and Rebecca Sisser winning first place team! Additionally, Sarah Leah Sullivan won first place speaker and Rebecca Sisser won second place speaker! We are so proud of all the hard work and effort each debater devoted to this first debate and we look forward to sharing more exciting Debate Team news in the near future. Thank you Mrs. Katz, debate team coach!
